About B.T.C. , Raha:
On the strength of Basic Education Scheme propounded by Mahatma Gandhi, the Basic Education Advisory Committee was formed in 1946. The Committee envisaged the construction of six Training Centers in different places of Assam. As a result, the present Basic Training Centre at Raha was established on 7th March, 1949 especially for the female trainees of the state. The then Chief Minister of Assam Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi inaugurated the Centre in 1949, where various long term and short term courses have been conducted and still it is going on.
The building consisting of existing teacher education course of the following infrastructure in the approved plan as per provisions of NCTE Regulation, 2009.

There are two Hostels for Boys & Girls Separately and Staff residential quarter in the institutions.
(II) The details of the above infrastructure are same as in the building plan approved by PWD. Govt. of Assam on 21/12/2005 and indicating total area 42548.40 m2.The hostel facilities for Girls & Boys provided by the institution along with 6 No. Staff Residential quarter are included in the area of the institution. These facilities are both separate & adjacent manner.
(III) The building Completion certificate issued by PWD, Govt. of Assam, countersigned bu Principal, BTC for plot No. 324,325,326,327 reflecting total land area 42548.40 Sqm. Total builtup area 2306 Sqm. The building is complete in form of permanent structure. There is a permanent structure with asbestos & Tin roofing.
(IV) Some building of this institution had buildup in 1949 (i.e. Date of establishment 07-03-1949). But it had been repaired by P.W.D. Govt. of Assam, time to time. A building status report has enclosed with in this connection which is provided by P.W.D. Building division, Nagaon, Assam.
(V) The safeguard against fire hazard has been provided in the building. On the other hand, the Fire and Emergency Service Centre, Raha is located with .50 mts distance.
(VI) Electicity and drinking water facilities has been provided by the institution.
(VII) The institutional campus,building, furniture is barrier free and not for friendly use for PWD.
