ACADEMICS:

The emerging needs of the society face escalating social challenges for impending changes. Therefore, it is imperative to change the curriculum to cope with the educational initiatives by broadening the scope and momentum. The necessity now a day’s demands a Two Year In-service teacher training program for Lower Primary Teachers, which is framed and conducted by SCERT, Assam.

CURRICULAR AREAS:

The entire curriculum has 3 curricular areas. These are- area I , II & III. The area I & II will be dealt during semester I and semester II, and the area III will be dealt during semester III & IV.

(a) Area I :- Foundation of Education (compulsory)

There will be 3 papers in this Area-

(i) Education and its new trends

(ii) Educational psychology and pedagogy.

(iii) School management and community.

(b) Area II:- Pedagogical Analysis of School subjects This area consists of 2 Groups:

Group A:- It consists of following primary school subjects-

(i) EVS

(ii) Mathematics.

(iii) MIL (Language I)

(iv) English( Language II)

Group B:-

(i) Health and Physical Education

(ii) Art and creative Education

(iii) Work Education

(c) Area III :- Practice Training and School based Activities-

The entire Practice Training is divided into two parts-micro teaching & practice teaching. The practice Teaching is done in life situation at primary school.
